ASCII, stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. It is primarily designed to communicated over the electronic medium, and it representsa 7-bit character code to represent a unique character. Microsoft developed an extension known as Windows-1252, using a 8-bit encoding system which defines additional 128 extended codes.
The first 32 (numbers 0-31)characters of the ASCII codes are reserved for control characters, and they are not printable are used to control peripherals such as printers.
